dc.description.abstractIntrodução: Os fixadores externos são ferramentas da ortopedia e traumatologia com ampla área de utilização, tanto na urgência quanto eletivamente, como alternativa de tratamento para fraturas complexas, infecções, reconstruções, alongamentos e perdas ósseas. Uma das possíveis complicações dos dispositivos externos é a refratura, seja do local submetido ao tratamento, seja do trajeto dos pinos de Schanz e fios de Kirschner utilizados para sua fixação no osso. Objetivo: Avaliar a influência da carga total imediata ou carga retardada após a retirada do fixador externo na incidência das refraturas. Metodologia: Estudo de coorte retrospectiva. Os prontuários dos pacientes operados pelo autor do estudo entre os anos de 2015 e 2018 foram revistos. Os participantes incluídos foram divididos em dois grupos: Carga Imediata (CI) e Carga Retardada. Os pacientes do grupo Carga retardada foram ainda subdivididos em dois grupos: 4 semanas sem apoio e 6 semanas sem apoio. O desfecho primário foi a taxa de refratura do membro operado. Resultados: Os grupos foram homogêneos quanto ao n, idade e diagnóstico inicial. A “sobrevida” média até a refratura foi de 5 semanas. Conclusão: Não houve diferença estatisticamente significante na incidência de refraturas quanto à liberação da carga imediata no pós-operatório da retirada. Os especialistas em Reconstrução e Alongamento ósseo membros do comitê ASAMI Brasil autorizam majoritariamente a deambulação sobre o membro operado e este estudo embasa cientificamente esta conduta. dc.description.abstract-enIntroduction: The external fixators are a widely useful tool in orthopaedics and traumatology, as in emergency as in elective procedures, it is an alternative to complex fractures treatment, infections, reconstructions, lengthening and bone loss. One of the possible complications of the Ex Fix is the refracture, as of the treatment site as of the site of the Schanz pins and Kirschner wires used to fix it to the bone. Objective: Evaluate the influence of the immediate full weight bearing or delayed weight bearing in the refracture incidence. Methods: Retrospective cohort. The medical files of patients who underwent surgery with the author of this study between 2015 and 2018 were revised. Participants included were divided in two groups: Immediate weight bearing and delayed weight bearing. The delayed weight bearing group patients were divided in two groups: 4 weeks delay and 6 weeks delay. Primary outcome was the refracture rate of the operated limb. Results: Groups were homogeneous concerning number of patients, age and initial diagnostics. 5 weeks was the average “survival” rate until the refracture. Conclusion: There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of refractures concerning early weight bearing. Limb Lenghtening and Reconstructions specialists, members of the ASAMI Brasil committee majorly authorize walking over the treated limb and the present study scientifically grounds this conduct.
