dc.description.abstractA poluição atmosférica pode estar relacionada diretamente com a atividade humana, envolvendo combustão veicular, industrialização, crescimento da população, entre outros. Assim essas atividades danificam o meio ambiente prejudicando paisagens naturais, vegetação, animais, solo, água, como também ocasionam graves problemas à saúde humana. Desse modo, o objetivo geral deste estudo é avaliar a percepção ambiental utilizando a abordagem sobre poluição atmosférica e os objetivos específicos incluem: 1) Identificar o perfil sócio-demográfico e a percepção ambiental sobre o tema poluição atmosférica; 2) Avaliar a possível correlação entre a percepção ambiental sobre o tema poluição atmosférica e a percepção dos problemas de saúde relacionados à poluição do ar. Utilizou-se uma metodologia de desenho transversal empregando técnicas quantitativas – descritiva. Assim foram aplicados como instrumento dois questionários online, adaptados para a plataforma Google Froms, que foram aplicados nos estudantes de 6o ao 9o ano de ensino fundamental de três distintas instituições adventistas privadas de Porto Alegre. Com uma amostra de 278 estudantes, os dados coletados foram analisados estatisticamente utilizando o software SPSS (Statistical Packege for the Social Sciences( versão 25, com um nível de significância de 95% (p<0,05). Os resultados sócio-demográficos foram: população com uma media de 12 anos de idade; estudantes matriculados no 6o e 7o ano de Ensino Fundamental com maior partipação (70,5%); gênero feminino como predominante (86,7%) e renda mensal média familiar de 2 a 3 salários mínimos (68,5%). Quanto a importancia atribuida a poluição do ar, os resultados mais relevantes foram: os estudantes percebem que as fontes de poluentes que geram maior risco para a saúde incluem o tabagismo dentro de casa (76,6%, p=0,000 teste de x 2 ) e fumaça dos automóveis\ônibus (77,7%, p=0,000 teste de x 2 ). Já os resultados sobre a relação dos problemas de saúde acarretados pela poluição do ar foram: a poluição do ar representa risco para a saúde (54,7%, p=0,002, teste de x 2 ). As variáveis não mostraram associação significativa na correlação entre a poluição do ar e a indução de asma (67,6%, p=0,453 teste de x 2 ); câncer em longo prazo (73,7%, p=0,578 teste de x 2 ); e problemas cardíacos (80,9%, p=0,718 teste de x 2 ). Como conclusão o resultado demostrou que os estudantes de 6o a 9o ano de Ensino Fundamental tem uma percepção ambiental adequada em relação a poluição atmosférica, mas que ainda tem que ser mais fundamentada em relação as condições de saúde relacionadas, sendo necessário aprofundar os conhecimentos sobre o tema.pt_BR
dc.description.abstract-enAir pollution can be directly related to human activity, involving vehicular combustion, industrialization, population growth, among others. Thus, these activities harm the environment, harming natural landscapes, vegetation, animals, soil, water, in addition causes serious problems to human health. Consequently, the general objective of this study is to evaluate the environmental perception using the approach on atmospheric pollution and the specific objectives include: 1) Identify the sociodemographic profile and the environmental perception on the issue of atmospheric pollution; 2) Assess the possible correlation between the environmental perception of the issue of air pollution and the perception of health problems related to air pollution. A cross-sectional design methodology was used, employing quantitative - descriptive techniques. Thus, two online questionnaires, adapted for the Google Froms platform, were applied as an instrument, which were applied to students from the 6th to the 9th year of elementary school from three different private Adventist institutions in Porto Alegre. With a sample of 278 students, the data collected were statistically analyzed using the SPSS software (Statistical Packege for the Social Sciences (version 25, with a significance level of 95% (p<0.05). The sociodemographic results were: population with a mean age of 12 years; students enrolled in the 6th and 7th year of Elementary School with the highest participation (70.5%); female sex as predominant (86.7%) and average monthly family income of 2 to 3 minimum wages (68.5%). Regarding the importance attributed to air pollution, the most relevant results were: students perceive that the sources of pollutants that generate greater health risk include smoking indoors (76.6%, p=0.000 x 2 test) and smoke from cars\buses (77.7 %, p=0.000 x 2 test). The results on the relationship of health problems caused by air pollution were: air pollution poses a health risk (54.7%, p=0.002, x 2 test). The variables showed no significant association in the correlation between air pollution and asthma induction (67.6%, p=0.453 x 2 test); long-term cancer (73.7%, p=0.578 x 2 test); and heart problems (80.9%, p=0.718 x 2 test). As a conclusion, the result showed that students from the 6th to the 9th year of Elementary School have an adequate environmental perception in relation to air pollution, but that still needs to be more grounded in relation to related health conditions, being necessary to deepen the knowledge the issue of air pollution.pt_BR
